Configure Email Sending Rate
Email sending rate (or rate limiting) is a critical tool for maintaining a healthy sender reputation. By controlling the volume of emails sent over a specific period, you can effectively "warm up" your domain and avoid being flagged as spam by Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
For new domains or those with low recent activity, a gradual increase in sending volume helps establish trust and ensures higher delivery rates for your campaigns.
Key Benefits
- Domain Warming: Gradually build your reputation with ISPs like Gmail and Outlook.
- Improved Deliverability: Reduce the risk of your emails being throttled or blocked.
- Traffic Management: Better control over how your server resources are utilized during large-scale sends.
How to Configure Your Sending Rate
You can manage the sending rate for any Verified Domain within your uSpeedo dashboard. Follow these steps to get started:
- Navigate to Settings: Log in to your uSpeedo account and go to Settings > Domains & Senders.
- Locate Your Domain: Find the domain you wish to configure from your list of active domains.
- Note: Only domains with a "Passed" status are eligible for rate configuration.
- Open Sending Rate Settings: Click the Send Rate button located on the right side of the corresponding domain row.
- Set Your Limit: In the configuration window, activate the feature, and enter your desired sending frequency.
- Current Limit: uSpeedo supports a range of 1 to 60 emails per minute.
- Save Changes: Confirm your settings to apply the new rate immediately.
Tips & Best Practices
Start Low, Go Slow:
If you are using a brand-new domain, we recommend starting at a low rate (e.g., 1–5 emails per minute) and gradually increasing it over several weeks as your engagement metrics stay positive.
Monitor Your Bounces:
If you notice an increase in "soft bounces" or "throttling" errors from specific providers, consider lowering your sending rate temporarily.
Verification is Mandatory:
If you don’t see the "Send Rate" button, double-check that your domain's DNS records are fully verified within the uSpeedo platform.
FAQs
Can I set a different rate for different domains?
Yes. Sending rates are configured on a per-domain basis, allowing you to warm up a new domain while maintaining high-volume sending on an established one.
What happens if my campaign exceeds the set rate?
uSpeedo will automatically queue your emails and release them according to your configured limit. You don’t need to worry about manually pausing your campaigns; we handle the pacing for you.
Can I increase the limit beyond 60 emails per minute?
Currently, the maximum supported rate is 60 emails per minute. For higher volume requirements or dedicated IP inquiries, please contact our support team.
